• Continue to complete set work by your teacher and revise previously completed coursework. See the NESA website for the syllabus.
• Access NESA past HSC papers for practice questions from 2010 onwards. Use the exam package to mark individually or peer mark.
• Use the Department's Digital Learning Selector tool to create practice quizzes or submit exam responses for peer marking.
• Use apps such as HSC test yourself and HSC Apps for practice HSC multiple choice questions from 2010 onwards.
  
• Students can also revise from NESA online multiple-choice questions.

Key advice for students learning at home

Preliminary course

• Teachers can use the embedded research methodology components of the preliminary course to set a course content related research project. Interviews, observations, questionnaires and literature reviews can be conducted using technology.
• I am a girl resource and CAFS educational guide offers students 6 individual stories and questions that are directly related to the syllabus, enabling students to apply syllabus content knowledge to the stories of six girls in six different countries.
• The vignettes of each story are accessible through Vimeo

HSC Course

• Year 12 students can access the exam packages on the NESA website. Packages from 2015 on will reflect the current examination. It offers full papers, marking criteria and HSC marker notes. For the topics that students have completed, access the appropriate questions, use the lines given as a guide on how much to write.
• The standards package will have questions, marking guidelines and sample student responses. Students should attempt to answer the question. Use the marking criteria and then look at the student response.
• Access the NESA practice multiple-choice questions, questions from 2015 on will reflect on the current syllabus.

The Independent Research Project

• for those students who are completing their IRP, use online survey tools to collect primary data google forms or survey monkey.
  
• Accessing reliable sources of secondary data could be collected from the State Library online collection. It is free to join.
  
• It is important to note that the structure and how the requirements of this task are presented are school-based decisions. Online advice on how to present the project product and differing marking criteria can be confusing. It is important to seek advice from the teacher and use any school-based assessment advice.

Groups in Context advice: It is important to recognise that the Mandatory Category A groups are currently: People with disabilities and Youth. Multiple choice relating to The Homeless are no longer represented in current and future HSC examinations.
