Arthritis NSW is a non-government health charity that seeks to improve the quality of life of those affected by arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Assistance Dogs Australia

Assistance Dogs Australia is a national charity which trains Labradors and Golden Retrievers to help people with physical disabilities, providing them with greater freedom and independence.


Centrelink provides a range of financial assistance for people with disability and their families and carers. Specialist disability employment services are available to assist job seekers.

Companion Card

The Companion Card is issued to people who have a significant, lifelong need for high level of care to participate in community based activities. The Companion Card allows a person’s carer free entry into participating venues and events.

Department of Family and Community Services: Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC)

ADHC provides a range of services for people with disability and their families and carers. Services include early intervention, everyday living support (including therapy, case management and behaviour support), post school transition and respite care.

Early Childhood Intervention Australia (ECIA)

ECIA promotes the interests of young children with developmental delays and disability. This includes providing information about early childhood intervention to families, professionals and the community and fostering the understanding and development of best practices in early childhood intervention.


EnableNSW provides equipment, and in some cases attendant care, to assist eligible residents of NSW with a permanent or long-term disability by providing assistive technology in the areas of mobility, self care, communication, and respiratory support. EnableNSW also has continence assistance and younger people in residential aged care programs.


Lifestart provides early childhood intervention and school age services for children living with disability or delay, their families and carers.


Medicare provides a range of benefits, payments and services to help with the cost of using health care services, buying prescription medicines or medical equipment.

Muscular Dystrophy NSW (MDNSW)

MDNSW is committed to providing a range of services and support addressing social, educational, medical and financial needs

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS is a national scheme designed to help improve disability services and provide greater control and decision making to people with disability in Australia.

Northcott provides support to people with a broad range of disabilities and their families and carers. Services include community participation, assistive technology, respite care, early childhood and therapy services.

ParaQuad NSW

ParaQuad NSW (Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of NSW) is a not-for-profit member-based association that aims to support people with a spinal cord injury to achieve their choices in life.

ParaQuad services include vital care, accommodation, support and clinical services to people with a spinal cord injury, their families and carers at every stage of life.

Parent Line

Parent Line is a telephone counselling, information and referral service for parents and carers of children 0 to 18. The service includes an early childhood intervention info line for families who have questions about their child's development or who have a child who has been diagnosed with a disability.

Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA)

SCIA provides services in the areas of advocacy, information, accommodation, community and personal support, regional services, injury prevention, employment and intensive exercise recovery.

Transport for NSW

Transport for NSW offers travel concessions for people with disability and their attendants and carers.
