ADA provides up to date research on evidence based practices for the identification and educational treatment of dyslexia and related language based difficulties.


Centrelink provides a range of financial assistance for people with disability and their families and carers. Specialist disability employment services are available to assist job seekers.

Department of Family and Community Services: Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC)

ADHC provides a range of services for people with disability and their families and carers. Services include early intervention, everyday living support (including therapy, case management and behaviour support), post school transition and respite care.

Early Childhood Intervention Australia (ECIA) - NSW Chapter

ECIA NSW promotes the interests of young children with developmental delays and disability. This includes providing information about early childhood intervention to families, professionals and the community and fostering the understanding and development of best practices in early childhood intervention.

Learning Difficulties Coalition

Learning Difficulties Coalition is a coalition of individuals and parent support groups which provides support and information about children aged 5-18 years with learning difficulties and related conditions.

Learning Links

Learning Links provides a range services for children with a disability or learning support needs, including early intervention groups, long day care and assessment and therapy services.


Lifestart provides early childhood intervention and school age services for children living with disability or delay, their families and carers.


Medicare provides a range of benefits, payments and services to help with the cost of using health care services, buying prescription medicines or medical equipment.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS is a national scheme designed to help improve disability services and provide greater control and decision making to people with disability in Australia.

NSW Centre for Effective Reading

The NSW Centre for Effective Reading is a specialist service providing information about teaching, reading and supporting students with complex reading difficulties through its dedicated website. Direct support is also available for rural and remote primary school aged students with complex reading difficulties and their teachers.

Parent Line

Parent Line is a telephone counselling, information and referral service for parents and carers of children 0 to 18. The service includes an early childhood intervention infoline for families who have questions about their child's development or who have a child who has been diagnosed with a disability.


SPELD NSW is a Public Benevolent Institution that provides advice and services to children and adults with specific learning difficulties and those who teach, work with and care for them.

Transport for NSW

Transport for NSW offers travel concessions for people with disability and their attendants and carers.
