August 2019 Disability Strategy update: find out where we're up to

As we stride into spring, the Disability Strategy Implementation team continues to drive the 2019 initiatives.

This month saw the team conduct over 70 face to face interviews with schools and send out a survey to over 500 school based staff who’ve completed some form of Trauma-informed practice professional development training. The survey asked teachers and leaders about the trauma-informed training they undertook and how effective it was.  We got a great response – thanks to all those who took time to complete this. The results will help to inform our thinking and planning for the type of training offered and how it can deliver the best outcomes in our schools and classrooms.

We also headed out on the road and to schools to share the Disability Strategy, the progress we are making and hear from our schools to keep the strategy live, and responsive.

As we move into September, there is plenty more to come. The next few months will see further developments in workforce capability and confidence initiatives, and the launch of an innovation fund program. Watch this space.
