As the Disability Strategy Implementation team continues to build out its team the initiatives begin to come to life. We’re continuing to bring together a range of expertise from within and outside the department to spearhead a number of immediate focus areas.
We continue to look for individuals with a diverse skill set. We’ve recently run an EOI for SEO2 and PEO roles (non-school based positions) and will be undertaking a public sector external merit process shortly.

We’ve shaped our governance structure for the strategy which incorporates an overarching Disability Consultation Group and initiative specific reference groups. With initial reference groups focusing on:
- Professional Development
- Improving the Learning and Support Journey
- Innovation Fund and
- Physical learning environments.
We envisage these being really interesting, solution orientated collaborations bringing together a broad range of individuals who are committed and passionate to delivering on the Strategy’s initiatives.
We continue to reach out to stakeholders and engage in robust discussions to help us keep the conversation open, transparent and front of mind.
