In August 2019 the Department launched the Inclusive Practice in Education Scholarships.
The Scholarships are open to all teachers (permanent, temporary and casual) across all NSW Education school settings. It is one of many strategies we are seeking to undertake to build the confidence felt by NSW teachers in teaching children and young people with disability.
Building the confidence and capability of our workforce is a priority for the Department. We want to place our teachers and schools in a position where they feel they have the strategies, tools and know how to adapt to their students.
Hear from Lauren Young, Classroom Teacher, Oran Park Public School, and Mark Scott, Department of Education Secretary, on why taking this step will assist in preparing our teachers for the future of education.
With the skills and expertise to teach a broad range of student needs, one teacher can make a world of difference in the lives of many children!
