IFS access requests no longer needed for high school transition

Access Request

From Term 2, 2019, we've made it easier for students with disability to transition from primary school to high school.

Students who are already receiving Integration Funding Support (IFS) in year 6 will now be able to continue that support into Year 7 without the need for a new access request.

Transitioning into high school is a big change for students and their families. Removing this administrative burden will help families and schools continue to focus on the student's needs.

This change has resulted from consultation and feedback from principal groups and key stakeholders.

In collaboration with parents and carers, school Learning and Support Teams review a student's personalised learning, support and adjustments to their learning on a regular basis. This process will continue for students receiving Integration Funding Support who transition to Year 7 without the need for an Access Request.

This success is one of many to come under this project, which we're looking forward to sharing with you.
