Stage 4 activity - Exploring the impact of mobile phones on road safety

This resource addresses the critical need identified by data to improve student pedestrian safety. By analyzing how young people use mobile phones and the associated risks, students will develop critical thinking skills and gain awareness of responsible behaviour in road safety contexts.

The Students' Use of Mobile Phones in Schools Policy of Off and Away Strategy has helped increase classroom focus and learning. Students do need to be reminded as they leave the school gates to keep their focus on the road traffic environment. If they need to access their phone, to move away from the road and footpath, and then put their phones away when walking home.
