  • Effective reading: phonological awareness – provides K-2 teachers with an opportunity to explore the practical application of the evidence-based teaching of reading. Focus will be dedicated to exploring specifically the what, why and how of phonological awareness in order to plan, assess and implement systematic and explicit phonological awareness instruction.
  • Effective reading: phonics – is a companion to the literature review 'Effective Reading Instruction in the Early Years of School' (2016), the focus is exploring how phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and oral language are all necessary for effective reading instruction.
  • K-8 Focus on vocabulary – provides K-2 teachers with an opportunity to explore evidence-based approaches to teaching reading.
