About this professional learning

Duration – 3.5 hours

This facilitated package is from the 2026 Semester 1 in-person and online professional learning events.

It supports curriculum leaders to further understand how to embed explicit teaching strategies in Mathematics and English K–6 to enhance learning for all students.  

The focus is on learning intentions and success criteria, connecting learning through the activating prior knowledge technique and checking for understanding.

 Participants will: 

  • strengthen their understanding of explicit teaching strategies, and how to use these to support learning in Mathematics  and English
  • strengthen their understanding of how to adapt and contextualise learning in planning and responsive teaching
  • plan the next steps to lead teachers in your school.
