Unit 2 – managing events
Part 1 of a Year 12 unit with resources. Part 2 will be published at a later date.
This program of learning addresses content from the focus areas of Algebraic relationships, Ratios and rates, Network flow and Critical path analysis. The lessons and sequences in this program of learning are designed to allow students to focus on using mathematics in event planning and major works.
Students will learn how simultaneous equations model break-even problems and apply rates to compare best buys and solve speed-distance-time problems.
Additionally, in this unit, students will learn project management concepts like flow capacity, critical paths and Gantt charts for effective decision making and planning.
