Welcome to Literacy and Numeracy Week. This week schools across NSW are celebrating the many ways literacy and numeracy help us learn.everyday.

At our school, literacy and numeracy are at the heart of learning. We know strong literacy and numeracy foundations help students succeed across every subject area. That's why we work together to create engaging learning experiences, build students confidence and help every student grow.

Throughout the year we promote literacy and numeracy achievement in lots of ways, through explicit teaching, rich learning experiences, student voice and opportunities to apply learning in meaningful contexts.

Literacy and Numeracy Week is a chance to celebrate learning. This week, our school will be celebrating through a parent workshop with strategies to support numeracy, an Escape Room maths challenge and a writing challenge across K to 6, and most importantly, recognising the great learning happening in our classrooms every day

Schools play an incredibly important role in helping every student develop strong literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills. Literacy and numeracy helps students communicate, think critically solve problems, and makes sense of the world around them.

Across our NSW public schools, teachers and leaders work every day to support students to grow achieve and thrive.

Literacy and Numeracy Week is an opportunity to celebrate this learning recognise great teaching and showcase the many ways literacy in receipt are embedded across every day school life.
