Oliver guided tours

This guided tour utilises a number of videos that demonstrate some of the easy-to-use features and integrated capabilities of Oliver Build 8.

Each video is approximately 2 to 3 minutes in length and will give you an idea of the look, feel and operation of Oliver v5 Build 8.

Introductory tour

  • Searching the library catalogue – Watch this video to learn how to perform a basic search of the library catalogue without logging in and how to check the availability of resources.
  • Basic loans – This video on basic loans shows how to process a simple loan in circulation desk.
  • Basic returns – This video shows how to process basic returns in circulation desk.
  • Renewing individual loans – Watch this video to learn the process of renewing individual loans in circulation desk.
  • Changing the due date of a loan – This video shows you how to change the due date of a loan, whether it is a new, existing or overdue loan.
  • Viewing and printing loans – Watch this video to learn how to view a borrower's loans and how to print loan reports from circulation desk.
  • Basic Orbit Search – Orbit is the search interface for junior borrowers. This video shows how to complete a basic search, an overview of the search results, and how to browse for eBooks.

Tour for experienced users

This guided tour utilises a number of videos that demonstrate some of the more advanced features and integrated capabilities of Oliver Build 8.

You can choose to watch the videos at an order and pace that suits you. Each video is approximately 2 to 3 minutes in length and will give you an idea of the look, feel and operation of Oliver v5 Build 8.

  • Orbit features - Orbit is the search interface for junior borrowers. This video shows how to use some of Orbit's features including Searching, Pick & Click, and My Library.

OverDrive eZRead - This video shows how to download an OverDrive digital resource using eZRead. Note: This video applies for users who have purchased OverDrive and the eZRead module.
