Transition workshops

Workshops and resources to support schools in strengthening continuity of learning and student engagement from primary to high school.

These school-facilitated professional learning workshops and resources support schools to strengthen continuity of learning and student engagement through effective transition practices.

Designed for school leaders, the workshops draw on evidence and examples from NSW public schools to build collaborative approaches across stages and settings.

Participants will:

  • explore the research and evidence base supporting effective transition to high school
  • identify strategies that promote continuity of learning and strengthen curriculum connections across stages
  • examine approaches to build and sustain collaborative relationships within and across schools
  • plan and embed processes and initiatives that support effective transition practices
  • use evidence and reflection to evaluate and improve transition practices over time.
