What is around me?

A Stage 5 sample French unit of work, where students use French phrases to explore and describe different types of homes.

Students compare their own home to those of families in francophone countries, students will learn to share information about their own home, describe a range of homes, express their preferences through exploring and designing ideal rooms and homes, and deepen their cultural understanding of how homes can contribute to a sense of identity. You can modify and adapt the document according to student needs and school context.

Sample assessment task

In this sample assessment task, students write an email to a builder describing their family’s renovation plans for their French chateau, including a labelled design. This task is aligned with the sample unit of work, What is around me?
