Authentic learning for Stage 3 students. This integrated study addresses an authentic problem for a school surrounded by bushland.

06 March 2020

Project Firestorm develops student understanding of the management of environments and how people influence the places in which they live. It focuses on bushfires in their local area.

Students:

  • are challenged to generate solutions to preparation, survival and recovery from a catastrophic bushfire event
  • learn design thinking processes and develop scientific and mathematical thinking skills whilst developing a solution for their driving question.
  • may have a basic understanding of coding, robotics, 3D modelling and electrical circuitry, although these understandings are not mandatory.
