Stage 6

Science in Stage 6 is designed to further the study of scientific inquiry and investigative work to develop the knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes across different branches of science. Studying science in the HSC prepares students for further education and employment and fosters working scientifically in students.

  • biology
  • chemistry
  • earth and environmental science
  • physics
  • senior science
  • science life skills

In 2018, the new Stage 6 science syllabuses will be implemented for Year 11. These subjects include:

  • biology
  • chemistry
  • earth and environmental science
  • investigating science
  • physics
  • science life skills
