Physical world – design and production investigation
This investigation complements and blends with any existing unit of work in the Physical World strand where teachers would like to embed a stronger design and production skill focus in their teaching of science and technology.
Inquiry question – 'What causes objects to move in different ways?'
Students are introduced to the concept that the force of air (or wind) can push and pull objects causing them to move. They investigate their surroundings, and familiar objects, and observe how sources of air cause objects to move in different ways.
The estimated task duration for this investigation is 3 hours of learning.
