A conceptual planning approach to history for small schools

Using a conceptual approach and engaging with the six identified historical concepts, will allow students across stages to engage with historical content and concepts to provide meaningful learning experiences. The six historical concepts aligned to the History K-10 Syllabus are:

  • Continuity and change
  • Cause and effect
  • Significance
  • Perspectives
  • Empathetic understanding
  • Contestability (Stage 3 only)
