Description: This professional learning for teachers is one in a series of four composition workshops which will examine and unpack creativity in the music classroom in stages 4 to 6. In this session, highly experienced Stage 6 music teacher Ms Fatima de Assis will cover the requirements for HSC Music 1 core and elective composition, unpack what a composition portfolio should look like, whilst also providing an insight into the many creative ways to approach preliminary composition activities. This workshop will also examine how best to support our students with limited notation experience and troubleshoot technological challenges that may present themselves in the composition process. This 90 minute online session through Microsoft teams will conclude with question time from participants.

Description: This professional learning for teachers is one in a series of four composition workshops which will examine and unpack creativity in the music classroom in stages 4 to 6. In this session, highly experienced composer and music educator Jim Coyle will cover the requirements for HSC Music 2 core and elective composition, HSC Music Extension elective, unpack what a composition portfolio should look like, whilst also providing an insight into the many creative ways to approach preliminary composition activities. This workshop will also examine how best to optimize student potential in the development of their composition skills, and how to provide constructive feedback. This 90 minute online session through Microsoft teams will conclude with question time from participants.

Description: This professional learning for teachers is one in a series of four composition workshops which will examine and unpack creativity in the music classroom in stages 4 to 6. In this session, highly experienced music educators including Mr James Humberstone and Mr Greg Thwaites, will explore a range of creative and innovative composition activities for the stage 5 music classroom that can be applied across a range of topics. This workshop will also examine how best to support our students with limited notation experience, how to integrate music technology successfully in the composition process, and most importantly, how to strive for optimal engagement in your teaching practice. During this session we will explore a range of composition activities suitable for the Stage 4 classroom. Through accessible creative processes, methodologies and technology, presenters will unpack how to teach Stage 4 composition in a variety of ways.
