This sample program of learning addresses the Stage 5 case study and Stage 5 site study requirements. The Case and site study – The Lambing Flat riots, 1861 enriches students’ historical knowledge related to the making of modern Australia.

This sample program supports students to understand how history is constructed through the interpretation of sources, use of historical skills and application of historical concepts. It contextualises the impact of industrialisation, imperialism and revolutions in an Australian context.
