Photographic and digital media
In the stage 5 the elective subject of photographic & digital media students explore the world through artistic practice, conceptual knowledge, the frames, and technological procedures.

Making
Students will develop knowledge and skills in photographic and digital media when:
- exploring digital conventions while creating and analysing digital works
- making photographic or digital media works informed through their understanding of the conceptual framework
- creating meaning and perspectives through their use of the frames within their works
- applying techniques, artistic concepts and procedures to make and refine photographic and digital media works.
Critical and historical interpretations
When critically and historically exploring the photographic and digital art world students will:
- develop and apply an understanding of art practice
- interpret and make connections between the conceptual framework and the frames in historical works
- critique, understand and justify meanings and perspectives through a variety of photographic and digital works.

Knowledge and skills creative arts - KASCA photographic and digital media framework
The KASCA photographic & digital media framework breaks down the core components of practice, conceptual framework and the frames into a series of lesson sequences. All lesson sequences come with ready-to-use differentiated learning and teaching resources and are available in an online format in the Lesson sequesnces and an e-book (PDF 986.38 KB) that can be downloaded to your smart device.

Mise en Scene google site
A student-centered online unit that builds understanding of the importance of mise en scene in film-making and photography. Students will investigate the practice of classic filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and his influence on four contemporary photographers inspired by his practice. Students will demonstrate their understanding of mise en scène in their art historical and critical writing and their artmaking. The activities would be appropriate for Photographic and Digital media and Visual Arts students.
