In this Stage 5 unit, students develop skills in composition and appreciation to make informed judgements about dance works.

In the sample unit, ‘Dance through the lens’, students explore dance film through Composition and Appreciation. In Composition, students collaborate to create and structure their own dance films based on an intent. In Appreciation, students analyse professional dance films and explain how the elements of dance are used to communicate the choreographer’s intent.
