In Performance, students learn about modern dance through practical technique lessons to perform a dance work in a modern style. In Appreciation students research the development of the context of modern dance and develop written skills to show appreciation of how a choreographer communicates the intent in a professional dance work.

This unit is supported by an accompanying student facing sample slide deck resource, a sample assessment task and a video resource of sample modern dance technique exercises and a phrase.
