National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Strategy
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Strategy sets out the principles and priorities that act as a framework to guide jurisdictions in developing and implementing localised policies and actions to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It also outlines the first of a series of national collaborative actions.
Aboriginal Education and Community Engagement has created a summary of the national strategy relating to the vision, key principles and priority areas for national collaboration.
Closing the Gap Strategy
The Closing the Gap Strategy was endorsed by the Australian Government in March 2008. The strategy agrees to six targets to address the disadvantage faced by Aboriginal Australians in life expectancy, child mortality, education and employment.
