2018 Public Education Foundation Scholarships

The Public Education Foundation Scholarships for 2018 are now open and providing opportunities for Aboriginal students

Aboriginal Education Council Scholarship

Provides support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students entering year 11 in 2018. The scholarship will provide financial support of $1,000 per year in year 11 and year 12 for both students (total scholarship value is $2,000 per student).

Basic Eligibility:

  • Enrolled in a NSW public school
  • Entering year 11 in 2018
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident

Camburn Withers Scholarship

Provides support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in Connected Communities schools to engage, learn, strive and reach their full potential and excel through their primary school education.

Basic Eligibility:

  • Enrolled in Year 2 in 2018 in one of the following schools:
    • Boggabilla Central School;
    • Bourke Public School;
    • Brewarrina Central School;
    • Coonamble Public School;
    • Hillvue Public School;
    • Menindee Central School;
    • Moree East Public School;
    • Taree Public School;
    • Toomelah Public School;
    • Walgett Community College Primary Campus or
    • Wilcannia Central School
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident

Dr Heather Radi Scholarship

Provides support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in Connected Communities schools to successfully complete their senior years of schooling and transition to University/Vocational post-school education and training.

Basic Eligibility:

  • Enrolled for Year 11 in 2018 in one of the following schools:
    • Boggabilla Central School;
    • Bourke High School;
    • Brewarrina Central School;
    • Coonamble High School;
    • Menindee Central School;
    • Moree Secondary College;
    • Taree High School;
    • Walgett Community College Secondary Campus or
    • Wilcannia Central School
  • Has a proven attendance record in 2016 at or above 86.5%
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident

Una May Smith Senior Scholarship

Provides support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to successfully complete and progress to tertiary education.

Basic Eligibility:

  • Attends a NSW Public School
  • Currently in Year 10
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident

Una May Smith Scholarship

Provides support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to participate in and successfully complete schooling and progress to tertiary education and/or training.

Basic Eligibility:

  • Attends a NSW Public School
  • Enrolled in Year 1 in 2018
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
