Aboriginal Language and Culture Nest – Student Art Competition
Calling all student artists with a passion for Aboriginal Language and Culture! Entries for the Aboriginal Language and Culture Nest Student Art Competition are now open. This is your chance to showcase your creativity, share what you’ve learned about Aboriginal Language and Culture and win $1,100 in prize money.
The winning artwork will be used to represent the department’s Aboriginal Language and Culture Nests across the state, including in use on websites, newsletters, posters, social media and other marketing materials. For more information on how the artwork will be used, please see the terms and conditions in the entry form.

All NSW public school students attending a school currently engaged in the Nest initiative are invited to participate in the competition
You are invited to submit an artwork, illustration, drawing, painting or graphic interpretation reflecting on these themes:
- Language revitalisation
- Cultural identity
- Connection to Culture, Country and Community
- Diversity of Aboriginal Languages
- Teaching, learning and sharing Aboriginal Languages and Culture

Once you have finished your creative piece, ask your parent/guardian to fill out this permission form Nest Student Art Competition - Permissions. Please also let us know if your artwork includes any traditional or cultural symbols or stories.

$1,100 prize money and Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to the winning entry.
