Current teachers, be supported to retrain and upskill
Are you interested in mastering a new key learning or specialist teaching area? Applications for the NSW Department of Education’s sponsored retraining programs are now open.

There are a wide variety of programs available to eligible permanent, temporary and casual teachers which will support you while you acquire additional competencies and skills, including:
School Counsellor Sponsorship Programs: current teachers can be supported to become a school counsellor with the NSW Department of Education.
Applications close 11:59pm (AEST), Friday 21 July, 2023.Inclusive Practice in Education Scholarship: current casual, temporary and permanent teachers/leaders have the opportunity to upskill in inclusive/special education.
Applications close 11:59pm (AEST), Friday 25 August, 2023.Teach and Learn Scholarship (Specialist Teaching Areas): current temporary and permanent teachers can be supported to train as a Teacher Librarian, Careers Advisor or English as an Additional Language/Dialect teacher.
Applications close 11:59pm (AEST), Friday 25 August, 2023.Teach and Learn Scholarship (High Demand Subject Areas): current teachers can be supported to retrain in high-demand subject areas including mathematics, physics, engineering studies, agriculture or industrial technology - metal and/or timber.
