Great news, applications are now open for the Rural Experience Program with placements commencing in Term 2, 2022.

Given the success of the program, and overwhelming demand, the department is investing in additional placements and extending this opportunity to our temporary and casual teacher workforce.

Permanent, temporary and casual NSW Department of Education teachers with Proficient Teacher accreditation and a minimum of two years' teaching experience are eligible to apply. Applicants can apply for up to five placements.

Successful applicants will be eligible for a program allowance consisting of $500 (gross) at the commencement of their placement and $500 (gross) per week in addition to their teaching salary for the duration of their placement.

There are 70 placements available across a variety of subject areas and locations. Applicants are encouraged to contact the placement schools' nominated contact person with any questions or to request additional information.

To find out more about participating schools and locations, visit the Rural Experience Program webpage, read the online guides or email the program team via: ruralexperience@det.nsw.edu.au.
