If so, apply for the Specialist Teacher Stream of the Teachers in the Field Program and expand your teaching experience. Temporary positions are available for Years K - 6 or Years 7 - 12 across a range of regional, rural and remote NSW public schools.

Under the Specialist Teacher Stream, temporary teaching opportunities are available for up to two years across a geographic region of schools.

Applicants must hold a valid approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education and be approved to teach in the subject area of the advertised position.

Temporary positions under the Specialist Teacher Stream are listed below.

Hub and spoke model

Temporary teachers employed under this model are assigned to a group of two to three schools with one school designated as the 'hub' school. Hub and spoke schools are grouped according to travel distance, so that teachers’ commuting time is, on average, no more than an hour.

Teachers will be based in their 'hub' school and will travel to 'spoke' schools, timetabled to deliver specialist subjects. Temporary teachers employed under this model must hold a valid NSW driver's licence, have access to their own vehicle and be willing to travel to participating schools.

Crookwell High school is a comprehensive rural high school with strong connections to our local community. It is situated in fertile pastoral country approximately 2.5 hours south west of Sydney, at an elevation of 887 metres. Our local area has a population of approximately 3100 people, with agriculture being a predominate employment source. Glen Innes High School, established in 1927, is a comprehensive, co-educational Year 7 - 12 school situated in the northern tablelands of NSW, traditional land of the Ngarrabul People of the Gomaroi Nation.
