A new pilot, to commence recruitment in Term 2, 2023, will trial the delivery of specialist subjects across small groups of schools in regional, rural and remote areas across NSW.
This pilot aims to increase access to specialist subjects for students, including HSC students, and is an opportunity for teachers to experience working in new locations and across different schools. It will seek to expand curriculum offerings and support student retention and achievement.
The pilot will create up to 10 new specialist teacher roles to support around 30 regional, rural and remote schools in a ‘hub and spoke model’. Specialist teachers will be based at a ‘hub school’ and will travel to ‘spoke schools’ to deliver the specialist subjects to students.
More information about the Specialist Teacher Stream will be updated as it becomes available.
