Eligibility criteria

The program is open to all current teachers and executive in NSW public schools and other educational systems in Australia. This includes high-potential final year students graduating from Initial Teacher Education, and includes existing NSW Education scholarship holders. An unconditional full approval to teach in the NSW public school system is a requirement of the program.  

The program will provide a tailored individual experience to meet each participant’s specific development needs. The department will take into consideration personal circumstances to accommodate requests to participate in the program on a part-time basis, on a case-by-case basis.

The program is open to final year Initial Teacher Education students and current teachers and executive with all levels of experience. There is no minimum requirement of previous teaching or leadership experience and beginning teachers are eligible to apply.

The FASTstream program aims to identify and develop high-performing, high-potential teachers and executive who aspire to formal leadership positions and wish to enhance their leadership impact. You should consider your personal motivation for teaching, the impact you have beyond the classroom and your personal and interpersonal skills when developing your application and digital story.

You can apply for the program. If you are successful, you must have been given full unconditional approval to teach in the NSW public school system before you take up your FASTstream school placement.
