Who we are

We have been helping children and young people with learning difficulties realise their potential since 1972. To mitigate the risk of poor educational outcomes later in life, we believe early intervention is critical for young children who experience developmental delays.

Who we can help

Primary students, secondary students, students with disability

What we do

Learning Links works in collaboration with schools, early childhood settings and parents to help children with learning disabilities and difficulties. These include conditions such as ADHD, high functioning autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, fine and gross motor delays, and speech and language delays.


Our registered and provisional psychologists provide targeted delivery to support any students in primary and high school dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger management, poor social skills, ADHD and transition to high school. Our support includes class observation with feedback and recommendations provided to teachers, and parents. The sessions include individual counselling in school which are delivered by a provisional or registered psychologist, once per week for 45 minutes for up to 10 weeks, or as required.

Costs: Counselling services are $650 per day. Counselling services by a provisional psychologist, for groups of four to five children, is free.

Engagement or Re-engagement Services

  • Speech therapy
    To support students in primary and high school who are having difficulty with speech sounds, expressing themselves and understanding what others are saying. Delivered by a qualified Speech Therapist in-school. Programs are flexible and can be delivered for 1 day per week for 20 or 40 sessions or ½ day per week for 20 or 40 sessions.

Costs: $395 for half a day each week or $595 for a full day.

  • Stop Think Do
    Targeted delivery to support any students needing support with social skills, behaviour management and motivational learning. Delivered by a provisional psychologist in school this program is for 6 to 8 year olds, 9 to 11 year olds, and 12 old 15 year olds, and is held once per week for one hour. A total of eight  participants for each group.

Costs: $80 per child.

  • Take Action
    Targeted delivery to support 8 to 12 year old students  needing strategies to cope with and manage anxiety. Delivered by a provisional psychologist in school for 10 sessions once a week for 45 mins. Parent involvement is encouraged. Sessions can be held for individuals or small groups.

Costs: Free.

  • Lego Club
    Targeted delivery to support any students with social difficulties to improve and practice their social interaction and communication skills. Delivered by a provisional and registered psychologist, this group is suitable for small groups of 8 to 12 year olds. It is delivered via weekly sessions of 45 mins, for 12 weeks.

Costs: $1237 per child which can be funded by NDIS or Mental Health Care Plan.

  • Education Support
    Support for children in primary school who are experiencing learning difficulties. The program is delivered by a qualified teacher in a school setting to individuals or groups for 20 or 40 weeks. Support areas include literacy, numeracy, planning, time management skills and concentration difficulties.

Costs: $450 per half day.

  • Assessments
    Standardised assessments to support any students in primary or high school who may be experiencing difficulty learning. Completed by a qualified Psychologist or Speech Therapist in school. This program includes individual one-off services, up to three hours, depending on the assessment type.

Costs: From $175 per child.

Parenting Services

Our team of professionals provide targeted workshops for parents who have concerns about their child’s learning and wellbeing. These include:

  • Anxiety and Depression in Children and Adolescents
  • Helping your Child with Maths at Home
  • Reading at Home with Your Child
  • Surviving Transition to High School
  • Developing Resilience in Children
  • Understanding Bullying.

Learning Links can provide practical workshops at your school, during the day or in the evenings, for up to two hours per workshop. These workshops are delivered by qualified psychologists, speech therapists and education experts.

Costs: The cost is $300 per workshop.
