School refusal services
Grand Pacific Health / Headspace provides specialist psychological treatment by qualified mental health clinicians for young people and carers. We can also provide wrap-around services to the school including assistance with behaviour management and back-to-school plans. The focus of our refusal program is to provide evidence-based, psychological intervention for young people experiencing mental health barriers to engagement in secondary education. This includes those at risk of, or experiencing disengagement from education. The aim is to support the young person to re-engage with education and thrive in that environment. Our schools refusal program works in a systemic model of care. We tailor the level and intensity of support to the individual person, family and school.
Costs: $105 per hour with a mental health clinician and centre-based supports. Travel time additional for services delivered off site such as school visits.
