What we do

COMPACT provide and develop unique programs to empower, experience, transition, inspire, mentor and re-engage young people into education and careers. We deliver innovative, flexible services and programs that help young people to overcome barriers and challenges to education and employment. With well-developed links with local business, government and community organisations, we provide work-related learning opportunities for students. We provide age appropriate, interactive, fun programs that build confidence, self-awareness and resilience to assist young people to achieve their full social and economic potential.

Mentoring

  • Better Opportunities and Outcomes for School Transition (BOOST)
A tailored, early intervention approach to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people, while still at school, to reach their full social and economic potential. BOOST is for individual or small groups of up to five in Year 7 to 12 students, on school grounds requiring a facilitator trained in the BOOST outcomes.
  • CEO for a Day
This program provides mentoring and networking opportunities with local business leaders for students from diverse backgrounds. CEO for a Day is targeted at Year 9 to 12 in groups of up to ten students. This is both onsite and offsite a one-day-a-week for five weeks, with COMPACT staff acting as facilitators and incorporating business leaders from the local community as mentors.
  • Tailor made programs
COMPACT Inc. has the ability to work directly with schools to design and develop programs and services to best meet the needs of a diverse client group. We can develop unique, tailor made programs fit-for-purpose to meet school and student needs. Our tailored programs can be universal, or targeted to individual, small or large groups of any year. COMPACT is flexible and adaptable to develop and negotiate an appropriate program to work within school set budgets.

Engagement or Re-engagement Services

  • Learn, Engage, Aspire, Perform (LEAP)
The program reengages student through self-discovery, highlighting the relevance of school and education, preparing them for life outside school. Students are involved in real life projects that develop a sense of ownership that bring enjoyment to learning.
  • Burrabinya
Burrabinya is an Indigenous-specific program with the aim of connecting students with culture and community to build self-esteem, improve skills and develop career investigation concepts. Students gain self-confidence, employability skills and a strong connection with local elders, positive role models. They also learn about relevant community support services and local business and industry opportunities.

Both LEAP and Burrabinya are group-based programs for 10 to 15 students. Both can be delivered to all secondary school stages. These programs are facilitated by experienced COMPACT staff and delivered on site with occasional excursions to industry and tertiary education providers. These typically run per semester but can be adapted to meet school requirements.

Costs: Costs for the services will be subject to direct negotiation between COMPACT Inc. and the school. We will endeavour to work within school budgets to provide customised programs based on requirements, needs and outcomes.
