Connected Communities, leaders and senior leaders

The Connected Communities leaders and senior leaders allocation is provided to Connected Communities schools to provide a vital link between the school and the local Aboriginal community.

The allocation is based on school enrolment numbers.

Use of funds

The allocation is for staff only. The instructional leader Aboriginal education is an Aboriginal identified position.

To support the implementation of strategic initiatives and provide a vital link between the school and the local Aboriginal community, the leaders and senior leaders will:

  • provide strategic advice to the Executive Principal on issues relating to Aboriginal students, their families and the community regarding education and training for Aboriginal students
  • consult with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) to develop plans and processes for the teaching of Aboriginal languages and culture
  • collaborate with key school personnel, the Aboriginal community and the wider community to implement and monitor strategic school initiatives.

Tracking expenditure against an individual work breakdown structure (WBS) or internal order (IO) is a school based decision. It is strongly encouraged to track funding allocations as it will support your school to evaluate the impact of the use of funds on student outcomes.
