22 December 2022

The NSW and Commonwealth governments have signed a $319 million 12-month Skills Agreement to support vocational training and skills development across NSW.
The funding will deliver a significant boost to the NSW skills and training sector by providing fee free places in courses that support NSW businesses and industries experiencing skills and labour shortages.
The fee free training places available will be rolled out under an initiative known as NSW Fee Free. TAFE NSW is at the heart of NSW Fee Free.
120,000 fee free training places relevant to jobs of the future are on offer. With training places available in courses that support industry sectors such as aged care, disability care and early childhood education, technology and digital skills, agriculture, construction, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing and defence. Fee free courses are also available to support other key industries.
All Smart and Skilled eligible students undertaking one of the priority courses in 2023 will not pay a fee. The goal is to increase access to vocational training and skills development across NSW and to provide greater opportunity for the people of NSW to secure employment in in demand and future focused industries.
