Supported by NSW Government

In 2020 the NSW Government commissioned Professor Peter Shergold AC and Mr David Gonski AC to lead a review on the NSW vocational education and training (VET) sector. In March 2021, the NSW Government released the NSW VET Review Report “In the Same Sentence: Bringing Higher and Vocational Education Together”.

The establishment of the IAT was a key recommendation, to create an entirely new form of Australian tertiary institution. In support of this recommendation, the NSW Government announced two IAT pilot sites in Digital, located in Meadowbank, and Construction, located in Kingswood.
