  • previously started an apprenticeship or traineeship in another state or territory, but your Training Contract ended before completion.

Note: You can register for CAPS multiple times throughout your apprenticeship or traineeship if you meet the criteria listed above.

How to register

  1. Click 'Register here'.
  2. Enter your details and submit the form.

If you need help registering:

What you need to register

  • Your contact details.
  • The name of the apprenticeship or traineeship.

What happens next

  • You will receive a confirmation email within 3 business days.
  • A CAPS Officer will contact you to confirm your details and you will receive a CAPS ID.
  • Your personal information and résumé are stored securely.
  • Your résumé is only shared with registered CAPS employers who match your training needs.
  • If you notify us you no longer require support, or your profile is inactive for over 12 months, your résumé will be removed after 28 days.

Please continue to look for job opportunities, as registration with CAPS does not guarantee employment but is intended to support your job search.

Employers will make direct contact with you if they decide to proceed.

How your details may be shared with employers

  • Your vocation, year of training and the locations you are willing to work from as detailed in your learner profile will be visible on the CAPS Register. This allows employers to identify potential candidates. No personal details are listed.
  • If an employer is interested, they must first register with CAPS before they can request your details.
  • All employers are checked and verified by CAPS before any learner information is shared.
  • Once approved, your details may be provided to the employer for them to contact you directly to discuss the opportunity.
  • You can then decide whether the role is the right fit for you before progressing to any interview, trial, or employment arrangement.

CAPS disclaimer

The CAPS program facilitates connections between learners and prospective employers but does not guarantee job offers or employment outcomes.

Participation in CAPS does not ensure selection or placement. Final recruitment decisions are made solely by employers based on their criteria.

Please make sure you:

  • continue to seek job opportunities independently, as registration with CAPS does not guarantee employment but is intended to support your job search.
  • remain committed to your formal training through your registered training provider to develop your skills, improve your job prospects, and stay actively engaged in the workforce.

To allow employers to manage multiple applications fairly and efficiently, learners are not advised which employers have been provided with their details. Employers will make direct contact should they decide to proceed.

Relocation assistance

If you gain employment through CAPS and need to relocate for work, you may be eligible for relocation assistance.
