As part of the Vocational High Schools Program, Seven Hills High School is the recipient of a purpose-built, state-of-the-art vocational education and training (VET) facility, the Vocational Innovation Centre (VIC). The VIC supports the delivery of VET qualifications that equip students with skills and knowledge aligned to local industry needs, including construction, logistics and health services.

What’s inside

Opening during Term 4, 2023, the VIC is a single facility with multiple work areas, including:

  • Electrotechnology store
  • Logistics store
  • Shared workshop
  • Four general learning spaces
  • Clinical lab
  • Plumbing sandpit
  • Plumbing store

Courses available at the Vocational Innovation Centre

The following VET courses are delivered by Seven Hill High School’s qualified VET teachers and highly skilled TAFE NSW trainers. Courses delivered by TAFE NSW provide industry-recognised certification that can account for credits towards future study.

Seven Hills High School has a dedicated Industry Liaison Officer, Janelle Henson from Schools Industry Partnership, to forge local industry pathways for students.

Janelle has a background founded firmly in working with young people, business and industry across the employment, education, and training sectors. Her career included roles with Commonwealth Employment Service and Ai Group before transitioning into the not-for-profit sector working at Macarthur Workplace Learning, Sarina Russo Apprenticeships and now currently aligned with Schools Industry Partnership as the dedicated Industry Liaison Officer. Janelle is a member of the Southern and South-Western Sydney Regional Training Services Awards Committee for the past 7 years. She is experienced and passionate about working with young people to support their goals and assisting them to find their career pathway and gain valuable skills and experiences while encouraging lifelong learning. Janelle looks forward to utilising her existing networks to create and build effective connections with business and industry to provide enhanced learning experiences, career and employment pathways for students who will be undertaking VET courses in the Nirimba collegiate and surrounds
