About Education Week

Education Week is a statewide, annual event, held during the first week of August, to celebrate NSW public education. The week communicates the achievements of public schools, their students and the value of public education.

Education Week 2018 runs from Monday, 6 August – Friday, 10 August.

Education Week launch

Education Week will be launched on Monday, 6 August at 10am – 11am via a simulcast from Parramatta Public School and Kiama Public School.

Education Week theme

The theme for 2018 Education Week is: Today's schools – creating tomorrow's world.

It celebrates how NSW public schools are equipping young people with the skills and capabilities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing, globalised world.

The Game Changer Challenge

This Education Week, the Department of Education is launching an exciting initiative called The Game Changer Challenge. Sixteen teams from schools across NSW will explore the role of design-thinking in the classroom all while solving the important question, what will the school of the future look like?

Entries are now open and will close Sunday, 10 June.
