Transcript for Secretary for a Day 2018 Highlights
[Students arrive at 105 Phillip Street, Parramatta]
Secretary for a Day is an amazing opportunity for a group of student leaders to come together for an exchange of ideas about the future of education in New South Wales.
Held at the department’s Parramatta office in Education Week, one of the highlights is being matched with senior executives—including the Secretary of the department—and spending the day in conversation with them.
Two days of workshops, forums and conversations culminate in an inspiring showcase of great ideas and a wonderful opportunity for students to inform and influence the work of the department.
Secretary for a Day is about empowering student voice and leadership in education. So why not be a part of it in 2019?
Angelyn Indraya, Smiths Hill High School: “You have to do it if you’ve got the opportunity.”
Dawai Yuan, NBSC Manly Selective Campus: “I’d say, it is marvellous, exciting, and an experience—that is also free!”
Joanna Kolevris, Camden High School: “Go for it! It’s an amazing experience. Just give it a go!”
Maximus O’Shea, Engadine High School: “I would say, definitely take this opportunity with both hands if you get this application—please! You need to do this. It’s going to inspire you to be a better student, to be a better person in life and probably inspire you to where you want to be when you’re older.”
