Trainees can enter the agriculture industry with little or no experience but want to work in livestock, cropping or mixed farming enterprises as farm assistants or station hands. Industry expects individuals with this qualification to carry out routine tasks under general supervision and exercise limited autonomy with some accountability for their own work. Possible job roles include being an assistant animal attendant/stockperson, farm or station hand, worker or labourer.

Outcome on completion of your HSC

• Certificate II in Agriculture AHC20116 from AHC Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package.

• Pathway to Certificate III in Agriculture AHC30116.

Course delivery

• Both on the job and off the job and can be delivered face-to-face, flexibly or mixed mode.

• The SBT term is calculated in months from the date of commencement to 31 December of the HSC year.

Commitment required

• Undertake a minimum of 100 days in paid employment and training.

• Complete Certificate II in Agriculture.

• The employment and training can be undertaken during school time, after school and during school holidays.

How will you be assessed?

• Both on the job and off the job through written tests, project work and practical exercises.
