NSW Training Awards wins NSW Best Government Event

NSW Training Awards wins ‘NSW Best Government Event’ at the Meetings and Events Australia Awards.

The win at the Meetings and Events Australia Awards (MEA), announced last week, once again puts the spotlight on our NSW Training Award Ambassadors, offering inspiration for many of the students in the EPPP cohort.

The glitz and glamour of the red carpet went virtual on Friday 29 May at the MEA state awards for 2019. The NSW Training Awards, hosted by the Department of Education, took out the ‘NSW Best Government Event’ in front of a broadcast audience of over 500 attendees.

The NSW Training Awards event celebrates the achievements of the best in Vocational Educational and Training (VET) and is a great opportunity for young people to be inspired by the individuals that have succeeded in the VET sector.

Each year the winners of the NSW Training Awards become Training Awards Ambassadors. Not only is this win a huge success for the event itself, it has also helped to bring VET back into the forefront of the career conversation and raise the profile of these Ambassadors.

Training Awards Ambassadors like Kelsey Commons, winner of ‘NSW VET in Schools Student of the Year’, are great success stories for students in the EPPP schools. Kelsey’s story is one that so many students can relate to and we hope will encourage them to make decisions about school subjects or post-school education that is right for them.

The EPPP is excited to bring our Ambassadors to our schools and promote VET as a valuable and reliable career path. While we will be doing this virtually for the moment, we hope to be in front of the students soon!
