Head Teacher Secondary Studies Ballina Cluster
Deborah has a passion and future vision as Head Teacher Secondary Studies - Careers, to work with her community of schools supporting the development of innovative transition programs and shifting community perceptions of vocational pathways. As a Music educator and Careers Adviser, she has developed a holistic picture of school curriculum inclusive of ATAR, VET, SBATs and alternate pathways for students. Deborah aims to empower young people to create their vision of a productive and meaningful life beyond school, through the strengthening of community and industry partnerships embedded within targeted career learning experiences.
Head Teacher Secondary Studies Grafton Cluster
After 10 years working as a mechanical fitter/machinist, David studied a Bachelor of Education in Design & Technology at the Newcastle University. He taught at South Grafton High School for 7 years, before becoming Head Teacher for the past 15 years. He has promoted and delivered Vocational Education and Training (VET) within the school and has developed close links with local industry via positions of VET Teacher, Head Teacher, VET Coordinator and Transition Adviser roles. He is excited to be involved in the pilot program of Head Teacher Secondary Studies within the north coast cluster with the aim to strengthen the pathways between schools, training and employment for students.

Joyce retrained as a Careers Adviser with the Department of Education in 2013 after completing the Transition Adviser training in 2010. She is a current professional member of the Careers Association of NSW & ACT (CAA) and the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA). Joyce is passionate & committed to building a network that collaborates effectively with multiple stakeholders so that the skills shortage & youth unemployment is minimised. Outside of working hours, you may find Joyce training for her next hike or an active adventure.
Head Teacher Secondary Studies Campbelltown Cluster
Rosemarie had her own lifelong learning detour when she shifted from Head Teacher of Science to Career Education. She has a post Graduate Certificate in Career Development from Australian Catholic University. Rose is a champion of school community business partnerships that provide opportunities to students, and fosters connections via consultation, mentoring and advocacy. In her many roles, Rose maintains the importance of active engagement and retention that creates and strengthens partnerships between the school, and industry strengthening opportunities for students.
Head Teacher Secondary Studies Cowpasture Cluster
Olga is passionate about Public Education and has been working for the Department in the South West Sydney area since 2010. Olga started as a Visual Arts Teacher but became interested in business and student welfare, which resulted in a temporary position as a Careers Adviser. She was permanently appointed as a Careers Adviser in 2011 and has remained working at Bonnyrigg High School since then. Her professional development has also lead to a strong interest in Vocational Education, supporting students in exploring vocational experiences and she has been the Head Teacher of the Vocational Education Department at Bonnyrigg since 2016. She is looking forward to developing her knowledge and interest in an exciting project in 2020.
