Adverbs
Adverbs are words that tell us more about verbs.
Adverbs can tell us about:
Manner (how) | Place (where) | Time (when) | Degree (to what extent) | Frequency (how often) |

fast, quickly, hungrily, excitedly | near, far, here, there, up, down | immediately, then, soon, tomorrow | quite, nearly, hardly, extremely | frequently, occasionally, often |
Lucy did the work carefully. | The family live locally. |
James did it yesterday. |
I could hardly speak. |
She occasionally visits the museum. |
A comparative adverb provides degrees of comparison.
