Our funded school initiatives

Initiative 1

The Academic Achievement Centre, requested by students and run by volunteer staff, provides the opportunity for students to complete schoolwork in teams of learners.

Impact and achievements

Anecdotal evidence clearly demonstrates the effectiveness and learning culture of this whole school program. Learning is now core business and is creating engaged lifelong learners who can work effectively in teams.


Initiative 2

Employment of additional mathematics teacher to achieve specific outcomes.

Impact and achievements

An increased number of students completing high level mathematics courses from 9 in 2017 to 26 in 2018 and an increase from 1 student in advanced mathematics to 12 students.


Initiative 3

Professional Learning Teams were formulated as cross KLA teams focusing on improving classroom instruction and an opportunity for staff to reflect on their teaching practice and observe others within a particular team focus area or goal.

Impact and achievements

85% of teachers reported their participation in learning teams positively impacted their teaching practice with student engagement, student feedback, literacy and behaviour management strategies.


Initiative 4

Noel’s Room Distance Education Project set up to provide an alternative education model to assist a variety of students in all years who were unable to cope with mainstream classes or who had been unable to attend school for a variety of reasons.

Impact and achievements

Since its inception, 58 students have been enrolled in the Project with 21 of these transitioning to full-time and part-time mainstream classes in various locations and 17 students to employment or other education.
