Three schools non-operational Wednesday 26 August

Riverstone High School, Schofields Public School and Wyndham College will be non-operational tomorrow due to possible cases of COVID-19.

Riverstone High School, Schofields Public School and Wyndham College will be non-operational for on-site learning tomorrow, Wednesday 26 August 2020.

The department has been advised by NSW Health this evening of a possible case of COVID-19 at each school. The people concerned are being tested and the results will be confirmed tomorrow.

The schools will be non-operational for the on-site attendance of staff and students and will be thoroughly cleaned as an extra precaution while we await the test results.

While the school sites are non-operational, learning materials are available through the department’s Learning from home website or for Year 12 students, via the HSC hub.

Wyndham College HSC trial exams will be rescheduled and the school will contact those students who have their HSC drama performance tomorrow.

The Schofields Public School OOSH will also be non-operational at this time.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or develops any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics.

Further information will be provided tomorrow advising when the schools will resume on-site learning.

Further information on COVID 19 is available on the NSW Health website.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
