Ryde Secondary College non-operational Friday 28 August 2020

Ryde Secondary College will be non-operational for on-site learning tomorrow due to a staff member testing positive for COVID-19.

We wish to advise that Ryde Secondary College will be non-operational for on-site learning tomorrow Friday 28 August 2020.

The department has been advised by NSW Health that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

The school will be non-operational tomorrow for the on-site attendance of staff and students to allow time for the school to complete the contact tracing process and have the school cleaned. All staff and students are asked to self-isolate while contact tracing occurs.

While the school site is non-operational, learning materials are available through the department’s Learning from home website or for Year 12 students, via the HSC hub.

We acknowledge the disruption for our students preparing for their HSC and will provide further information tomorrow to HSC students advising of alternative arrangements.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if you develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics.

Further advice will be provided tomorrow advising when the school will resume on-site learning.

Further information on COVID 19 is available on the NSW Health website.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
