Riverstone HS and Wyndham College resume on-campus learning Friday 28 August

Both schools have been non-operational for on-site learning on Wednesday 26 August 2020 and Thursday 27 August 2020.

Two students attending Riverstone High School and one student attending Wyndham College have tested positive to COVID-19, resulting in both schools being non-operational for on-site learning, Wednesday 26 August 2020 and Thursday 27 August 2020.

Both schools have been thoroughly cleaned and will resume on-campus learning tomorrow, Friday 28 August 2020.

Wyndham College will re-open to all Year 11 students and Year 12 students who wish to work on major works and performances. The HSC trial exams rostered for this week scheduled for Wednesday – Friday have all been rescheduled for Monday 31 August and Tuesday 1 September. The College will send out a revised timetable.

The NSW Department of Education and NSW Health have been working closely to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff is maintained. This work has included identifying close contacts of the confirmed cases and communicating directly with them regarding their requirement to self-isolate.

The students and staff identified as close contacts have been notified and have been asked to self-isolate for the required period and not return to school until this time has elapsed.

The schools will be vigilant in implementing infection control procedures, including daily cleaning in accordance with normal protocols, the promotion of healthy hygiene habits and will continue to make hand sanitiser available for staff and students to use while at school.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.

Further information on COVID-19 is available on the NSW Health website. If you have any education-related questions please contact 1300 338 679.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding.
